Forum for Education Reforms in the SEE countries

Forum for Education Reforms in the Western Balkan Countries

02-04 December, 2016 in Skopje, Macedonia

In cooperation with the EPP Group in the European Parliament and Robert Schuman Foundation Luxemburg

The main objective of the meeting was to simulate cooperation and experience exchange among representatives of the EPP sister parties in the region concerning education reform, European approaches on vocational training, dual education and youth work. The program was realized with the organizational support of RSI local partner, the Pavel Shatev Institute. We were happy to see many RSI alumni again as speakers on board in our program who this time gave back their experiences to the new generation of determined politicians.

Razvan Orasanu

Deputy Minister for Privatization of Romania (speaker)

The most important issues discussed in Skopje is how to create a community of learning amongst South East European states who all have similar challenges in the field of education, brain drain and the mismatch that exists in the labor market between what schools and universities provide and what the companies need. The future of public policies in the field of education is critical not only to being addressed by Centre – right parties in the EPP family of foundations, it is a crucial aspect of the competitiveness of these countries and their future economic performance.

Todor Koneski

Macedonia (participant)

A very unique opportunity for me, to meet and cooperate with other Centre-right young politicians from around Europe. Also, a one of a kind learning experience where I got to learn from some of the best qualified politicians/political educators in all of Europe. I would love to work with RSI again sometime in the future, and am looking forward to our next cooperation!
