Governance in Ukrainian Municipalities: Transferring V4 Experience I.

The Robert Schuman Institute in cooperation with partners from all V4 countries started a long term project provided for 35 city and municipality councillors of various parts of Ukraine with the support of the International Visegrad Fund (www.visegradfund.org). The first stage of the program  were organised in partnership with the Kiev based Institute for Political Education and with the support of the International Visegrad Fund in Kiev, between 12-14 October. Meetings were held in the Kiev City council and the Ukrainian Parliament to discuss the current developments of the Ukrainian reforms concerning decentralisation and the available budget for the local councils. The group had the chance to meet city councillors of Hungary to exchange the best practices of loca self governments of Hungary. The group will meet again in Lviv, where meetings will be organised in the Lviv city council and with city councillors, mayors and experts coming from Slovakia, Czechia and Poland.
