Young Leaders XXIV/2 (2017-2018)

International and Security Issues (21-25 November in Budapest, Hungary)

with the cooperation of Eduardo Frei Foundation, the Netherlands

The Robert Schuman Institute started the 24th “Young Leaders” series of courses in cooperation with the Eduardo Frei Foundation (EFF). The first course, entitled “Basics of a Democracy” took place in Budapest between 10-14 October. 19 perspective young politicians were delegated by EPP parties from Eastern, South-Eastern Europe and Lebanon to develop skills and enlarge their horizons.

The second part of the series will be organized between 21-25 November and will focus on international and security issues. The main topics to be discussed are the post-Cold war institutional order, crisis management in the international system, functioning and structures of the European Union, integration process, enlargement policy of the EU and Neighbourhood Policy, NATO and EU in the current security architecture, relations with Russia, demography, migration and energy as security factors, international communication and shaping the image of a country.

The third part of the series is going to take place between 16-20 January, 2018 where we deal with the challenges in the economic and social life.
