The Robert Schuman Institute (Budapest, Hungary) in cooperation with its partners, incl. the Eduardo Frei Foundation (the Netherlands), KAS and EDUCATIO: Institute for Development and Training (Lithuania),  announces open the call for applications for the series of seminars titled “Leaders in Democracy”, to be held in Trakai, Lithuania in July and August 2019, for the same group of representatives of center-right youth and student organizations of Belarus (age 20-30 yo).

Aim of the project:  to offer value-based perspective on development for the future political elites of Belarus of the center-right wing who are committed to the European integration / fruitful EU-Belarus partnership. This is to be achieved by introducing and debating fundamentals of democracy, the praxis of value-based politics as well as vectors for foreign and security policies based on communities of values. Another important objective is to support the interaction of the Belarusian participants with like-minded communities by connecting with representatives of different center-right organizations in Europe (such as CDA/EFF, KAS/CDU, YEPP, EDS, etc.), to give them a chance to learn from each others’ experiences and current issues of concern.

Target group:   15 selected participants are active members of the center-right youth and student organizations of: United Civic Party, Movement for Freedom, Belarusian Christian Democrats, Tell the Truth as well as NGOs, supporting pro-European and democratic orientation of Belarus.

Length of the project:   2 rounds of 4-day-seminars (PARTICIPATION IN BOTH SEMINARS OF THE SERIES IS MANDATORY!)

Seminar I.

8 – 11 July, 2019

Note: arrivals are one day before (07 July, Sunday) and departures one day after the program (12 July, Friday morning).

Seminar II.

26 – 29 August, 2019

Note: arrivals are one day before (25 August, Sunday), departures one day after the program (30 August, Friday morning).

Location:  Trakai region, Lithuania

Deadline for applications:            10 AM, 22nd May (WEDNESDAY) 2019

Working language:                        English (no translation will be provided)
