Can COVID-19 be a blessing in disguise for EU-EaP relations?
“As the Chinese ancient proverb goes, there is an opportunity in any crisis. COVID-19 is a crisis like nothing before. We are only beginning to realize its influence on our lives, habits, the economy, but also politics, domestic and international. I would like to reflect on the extent COVID-19 could be an opportunity for EU-EaP relations, one that would bring strengthened dynamism and a new level of ambition. Or maybe it will only exacerbate shortcomings and limitations. Let’s try to project what is the case for the EaP, particularly in light of an approaching summit. Unless it will be postponed”.

Robert Golanski, Advisor to the EPP Group in the European Parliament, will lead the discussion and answer your questions.
Robert Golanski works for the EPP Group in the European Parliament in Brussels. He is responsible for the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Subcommittee on Security and Defence. His main focus is the Eastern Partnership, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan as well as the Common Security and Defence Policy of the European Union. Robert has been with the European Parliament for 17 years. Previously he was in the Cabinets of the President of the European Parliament (Hans-Gert Poettering and Jerzy Buzek). In his free time he prepares to finally break 1:30 hrs in half marathon.
