Good example: what we can learn from Austria’s response to pandemic

We are continuing with our traditional weekly #StayOn talks focusing on the most relevant issues of political, economic and social nature. On Thursday June 11, at 17h CET we will be happy to welcome Ademir Jatić, International Secretary at Junge ÖVP Burgenland, to speak about his country’s example of handling COVID-19.

Austria was among the countries who responded fast and decisively to the coronavirus outbreak, and has been widely praised for its early decisions and efficient reaction to the crisis. What did it do differently?

We invite you to look more specifically into the following questions:

  • How did Austria address the pandemic?
  • From the beginning until now: what has the government done insofar as it was able? What was the general attitude to the undertaken measures by the population? What specific steps were taken?
  • Communication during the crisis: how was its arranged and handled?
  • From the first day of the lockdown to the first day of re-opening: how is Austria paving its way to a ‚new normality‘?
