ONLINE CONTENT IN POLITICAL COMMUNICATION

Online Content in Political Communication

The Robert Schuman Institute (Budapest), with the support of the Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung Hungarian Office organizes a seminar for a selected group of 14 young political communication professionals from EPP sister parties (who are former participants in previous HSS-RSI projects) wishing to gain relevant insights and expand their professional networks.

Aim of the project and expected results: political public discourse and voter communication often require delivering complex messages to decision-makers, politicians and their organizations, against the backdrop of shrinking attention span and rapidly changing channels. Throughout the course of 1,5 day program the participants will familiarize with the specifics of building a meaningful, constructive social dialogue incorporating value-based and self-identical policy principles, as well as, under the guidance of our invited experts and practitioners, identify and discuss specific challenges in their field, learn about good practices in online media-based communication from relevant colleagues of the EPP family, and develop a blueprint to translate any given program element into their own practice upon return to home countries.

The agenda will feature the topics as follows:

  • Lessons from the 2021 German federal online election campaigns
  • Online involvement and training of party activists during and outside the pandemic
  • Effective storytelling
  • Trends and good practices in online content development
  • YouTube and TikTok in political activism: tips and tricks
