PUTTING YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE SPOTLIGHT: 2022 THE EUROPEAN YEAR OF YOUTH

Putting Young People in the Spotlight: 2022 The European Year of Youth

****

We are continuing with our series of digital fireside talks, and happy to invite our friends and followers to the next upcoming Zoom discussion to take place next Thursday,  10 February, 2022, at 17h CET. We will be delighted to bring back onboard Doris PACK, President of our Institute and member of the Christian Democratic Union (Germany), and together reflect on the opportunities the European Year of Youth is bringing to young people all around Europe, and the strategies the European Commission, in cooperation with the European Parliament, Member States, regional and local authorities, stakeholders and young people themselves, will employ in order to improve the  situation of young Europeans in terms of education, training, learning, employment, and civic and political participation.

Among other priorities, we will look into ways to:

  • encourage young people’s engagement in civic and political life;
  • combat youth unemployment and mitigate pandemic impact  through recovery plan NextGenerationEU, which opens up new perspectives for young people such as high-quality jobs as well as education and training opportunities;
  • bring young people’s opinions and ideas on board in decision-making.
